In this speech, Lomax pointed out that Email marketing has been changed. First of all, during 2008 and 2009, the volume of sending email in the observed company increased 42% as well as revenue increased 35%, which showed that email marketing has reached a new level of using different forms of email. However, the rate of opening email is regarded as an important point of email marketing. If the rate of opening email is over 100%, it offers more opportunities to increase profits. Moreover, giving customers to have opportunities to choose whether they want to receive email from the company is not only offering a chance to increase company's profit, but also helping customers to control received emails without being bombarded by useless SPAM. Lomax also pointed out that the order rate decreased slightly; however, it did not refer to email marketing but the economy.
In this speech, it shows that there is an innovation in email marketing, which not only increases company's revenue or profit, but also prevents customers from receiving a lot of irrelevant SPAM.
